I think the abstract expressionist paintings I create are a
response to my many years spent as a graphic designer,
interpreting and communicating other people's messages.
My art comes from a very personal place, but I strive to create work that exudes a beauty
and luxury that is relatable to many, and easily blends with upscale interiors and high-end spaces.
I want my art to not only touch people emotionally but also become a fixture in their
home or office, finding a place, accenting a space, and creating a presence, with a warmth and an enduring style that will last a lifetime.
I draw inspiration from nature,
primarily bodies of water—
the ocean, crashing waves,
the shore where sea meets sand...
I am also profoundly inspired by music—songs that I love, from artists as varied as
Peggy Lee, Nancy Sinatra, Jill Scott, Laurie Anderson, Alison Goldfrapp, and Lana Del Rey.
My medium is acrylic on canvas with occasional screen printing and splashes of typography.
